Online Safety at Cymmer Primary School

Online safety is an important part of keeping children safe at Cymmer Primary School. We currently hold the 360 Degree Online Safety Mark.

We have extensive security measures in place in school, which are monitored both internally and externally, to help safeguard pupils from potential dangers or unsuitable material. Any online safety incidents are recorded and managed.  Online safety is taught to all pupils explaining and demonstrating how to stay safe and behave appropriately online.  We currently use the HWB online safety planning scheme

In addition to this, we supplement lessons plans with a wide variety of stories, the Project Evolve Toolkit Project Evolve Toolkit (click to view) and Google Internet Legends (click to view)

As a school we have an online safety policy. If an incident occurs it is logged and reported to our online safety coordinators who follow the plan set out in our online safety policy.

We have two working online safety groups. A pupil online safety group which is run by our year 5 and 6 digital leaders and an adult online safety group which consists of our online safety coordinators, safeguarding team, governors and parents.
