The foundation phase profile shows the outcomes that we use to assess children in the foundation phase.
What outcome should your child be working towards?
Outcome 2 - An average nursery child should achieve this by the end of Nursery.
Outcome 3 - An average reception child should achieve this by the end of Reception.
Outcome 4 - An average year 1 child should achieve this by the end of year 1.
Outcome 5 - An average year 2 child should achieve this by the end of year 2.
Outcome 6 - A more able year 2 child will achieve this by the end of year 2.
Children are assessed against outcomes and tracked throughout the foundation phase. A baseline is set and sent to the Welsh Government at the beginning of Reception and again at the end of year 2. Children are tracked in Personal and Social Development, Literacy and Maths. In Reception results for physical development are also reported to the Welsh Government. At the beginning of May in Year 2 children will take part in national tests in Reading, Math and Math Reasoning.
